My Great-Grandfather William Brundred Loomis, 2nd Lieutenant for the 16th Regiment, Company D fought bravely in the Spanish American War of 1898-99. He took many photographs before, during, and after the war documenting sites and people in well over a hundred pictures that have never been seen before, outside of the family.

I am on a quest to find a traditional in-print publisher who is willing to publish these photographs in a book or two book series depicting the war. There are well over 130 actual pictures that are now yellow with age, but showing scenes such as the Camps (Thomas, Coamo, etc.) to the funerals of two Wisconsin men, sweeping the officer's street, guarding the mules, line-ups for march in Charleston, transports (particularly #21 and others), individual soldiers, being issued rifles and also a picture of being issued rations, tents, canons, marching, the Road house that started the battle of Coamo, nurses, Major Reed, Captain James, and so much more that I can't possibly fit it all in here.

Some of the pictures are 8 x 10" and most are about 3 x 2" in size.

As usual, I have some rejection slips, primarily due to the nature of the book being mostly in pictures. But I feel that this book needs to be written to document never before seen pictures depicting some famous scenes from the war itself. I have thought about releasing an eBook of these photographs, but will wait to have a publisher in-print first that will respect an eBook form possibly. An eBook version is currently being created, we are awaiting our ISBN number before completion.
